Wodonga Senior Secondary College provides students with the broadest range of subjects in the region and in VCE in particular, students have the ability to tailor their program to best suit their interest and intended pathway upon graduating from the College.
The VCE is a requirement for students to be able to gain direct entry into university. The minimum requirement to qualify for the award of the VCE is the satisfactory completion of at least 16 units of study which must include three units of English, including a Unit 3 and 4 sequence, and at least three sequences of other Unit 3 and 4 studies.
The assessments students undertake in Unit 3 and 4 VCE and Scored Assessed VET studies are used by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority to calculate a Study Score for each subject. This is a standardised score showing the student’s achievement relative to that of all other students doing a particular study in Victoria. This is then used to calculate their individual Australian Tertiary Admission Rank, or ATAR score, upon completion of the VCE.
